A little introduction here: I’m Derek Powers, Founder and CEO of HazzDoc.
All companies have a history. Mine is in the vein of the American entrepreneurial spirit. A desire to see a dream of independence and innovation take hold in my life and career. I wanted the freedom to see my vision succeed and flourish.
I was ready.
Now I just needed……a vision.
A little background…
I’ve been in the shipping industry for over 15 years. I’ve pulled, prepped and shipped more product in my field than most have in twice that amount of time.
Every which way possible. AIR, LTL, Truckload, OCEAN, Courier, Rail…..carrier pigeon.
I’ve done it all.
Well, as long as “it all” refers to everything in the coatings industry.
My expertise is in all things…..paint. Paint and paint related material, that is.
UN1263 is my world. And shipping it, is my specialty.
After a decade and a half though, something was missing. And that was an efficient and streamlined way to produce hazardous materials/dangerous goods paperwork.
Sure, there were a couple of different software options and ways to produce what I needed. But, unfortunately, it was like going back to the dark ages to get me there and time became my biggest victim.
I didn’t want a fully integrated system that cost as much as our company’s ERP and looked like a throwback to Windows 98.
I wanted a modern looking and behaving process that allowed me to quickly and effectively produce the required paperwork to make me look like a hero to my manager, our ownership and our customers.
After looking extensively, I discovered that none of the options I found were what I really wanted.
I then realized what I stumbled upon…
…..MY VISION!
I had my idea.

And that is how HazzDoc got its start.
Come August 2020, we are going to provide what I’ve found is lacking in the world of hazmat documentation. HazzDoc provides the processes and regulatory logic that is needed to save your company time and hassle while preventing delays and fines.
